Like many first-time mothers, this parent closely observed whether her child developed allergy symptoms after trying new foods, especially egg and fish. Her son, just over one year old, had severe eczema, so food choices were monitored very carefully. After a new-generation IgE molecular allergy blood test, results suggested sensitization to both egg white and egg yolk. Even after stopping direct egg intake, however, his eczema and generalized itch did not fully improve.
Why could symptoms persist despite avoiding egg? The clinician explained that many processed foods may still contain egg-related components, such as lecithin from egg yolk or other sources. For people with egg allergy, products containing relevant egg-derived ingredients may still trigger reactions.
Therefore, food labels should be checked carefully to avoid relevant ingredients. The same test also suggested sensitization to inhalant allergens, including dust mites. Based on this, the family was advised to use dust-mite control bedding products. After environmental adjustments, the child's eczema-related itch improved significantly.
Would temporary egg avoidance affect growth? In this case, the report included follow-up guidance and an expected timeline for future reassessment. Families should review reintroduction timing with qualified healthcare professionals to ensure nutritional adequacy and safety.
