What is acute & chronic allergic reaction?

Allergic reactions can be categorized into Acute & Chronic reactions.


Acute Reactions

In general, occurs within minutes or hours when in contact (oral or contact) with allergens.

Symptoms includes:

  • Breathing difficulties, narrowing of tracheal

  • Blood pressure drop

  • Severe skin rash and itchiness

  • Acute Allergy Reaction could be life threatening. A trip to the hospital could be necessary. Carrying an Adrenaline auto-injectors (JEXT) is recommended.


Chronic Reaction

In general, occurs within hours or days when in contact (oral or contact) with allergens.

Symptoms includes:

  • Skin itchiness

  • Eczema
