Allergy Desensitization

Allergy Desensitization uses your body's own immune system to fight your allergy, used to treat the root cause of allergies—not just the symptoms.

Natural ingredients that train your immune system

It is made of natural ingredients— It’s made from natural ingredients—very small doses of what you are allergic to. When you take it every day, it can help make you less sensitive to the allergen over time, eg. house dust mites

Desensitization works by stimulating your immune system so that it learns not to react to specific allergens. Over time, it actually modifies your allergy, offering long-term benefits that include a reduced need for symptomatic medication and may lower the risk of developing other allergic symptoms.

Allergen-specific desensitization has many important advantages over all other allergy treatments:

  • It can prevent the original allergy from developing into allergies to other substances (cross-reactivity), or from developing into other allergic symptoms.
  • It's the only treatment approach that directly targets the cause of the symptoms. So if allergen-specific desensitization is successful, less or no medication is needed.
  • Many studies have shown that they can relieve the allergy symptoms and reduce the need for medication. These treatments can already lead to an improvement in sneezing, a stuffy nose, and skin itchy and watery eyes in the first year

Controlling your body’s allergic response

In scientific perspective, what allergy desensitization encourages is known as immune deviation and immune tolerance.

Immune deviation is a process where the immune cells responsible for your allergic immune response are replaced by other immune cells which do not react in the same way.

Meanwhile, immune tolerance – your body’s ability to tolerate allergens without reacting – is induced by ‘regulatory immune cells’, which dial down your body’s allergic response.

Together, these processes result in the production of IgE-blocking antibodies, which partly neutralise the allergic immune response.

What is the difference between allergy desensitization and allergy medicine?

Allergy desensitization targets the cause of your allergens, eg. house dust mite. That makes it different from anything you may have purchased over the counter. Over-the-counter medicines treat allergy symptoms, not the cause of the allergy. That’s why any relief you get from them is short-term.

Over-the-counter medicines (OTCs), like antihistamines, are a good way to start treating your allergies. But many people with allergies find that they don't get enough relief with OTCs. This may be because OTCs only treat symptoms. If OTCs don’t seem to be doing enough to help your symptoms, if might be time to step up your treatment. If OTCs don’t seem to be doing enough to help your symptoms, it might be time to step up your treatment.
